When people learn they are in an 18-year Rahu Mahadasha or a 19-year Shani Mahadasha, a common response is: "I'll just wait it out." This is the wrong strategy.

Every Mahadasha, however difficult, contains multiple Antardashas within it. And every Antardasha has its own polarity. Even in a difficult major period, there are 1-3 year positive sub-windows. Finding these windows and acting within them is the real purpose of Dasha analysis.

The Core Polarity Rule

  • Mahadasha lord with Navtara 3, 5, or 7: difficult major period.
  • Mahadasha lord with Navtara 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, or 9: supportive major period.
  • This same rule applies fractally at every level: Antardasha, Pratyantardasha, and beyond.
  • The same polarity law governs every time scale, from 15-year major periods down to individual days.

How to Mine Good Windows in a Difficult Mahadasha

Window Mining Process

  1. Identify the current Mahadasha lord. Check its Navtara polarity.
  2. If the Mahadasha is negative, list all Antardasha lords within that Mahadasha.
  3. Check each Antardasha lord's Navtara number from your personal Navtara table.
  4. Mark those with Navtara 2, 4, 6, 8, or 9.
  5. Those Antardasha windows are when to make major moves, investments, and decisions.

The Three-Check Rule: For Any Major Decision

Check What to Examine Result
Check 1 Mahadasha lord polarity Positive (+) or Negative (-)?
Check 2 Current Antardasha lord polarity Positive (+) or Negative (-)?
Check 3 Current Gochar of fast planets (Shukra, Surya) Are they crossing your Vadh Nakshatra?

Decision Rule

  1. All three positive: Proceed aggressively. This is the optimal window.
  2. Two positive: Proceed carefully. Reduce exposure and risk.
  3. One or zero positive: Wait. Identify the next positive sub-window.

The most important strategic insight: the quality of the Mahadasha is fixed, but you work within it. Major success is possible even in a difficult Mahadasha, provided you act within the right Antardasha window.
