This policy explains how Charika Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"), which runs the brand DammruVani, the website dammruvani.com and DammruVani Play at play.dammruvani.com, handles your personal data. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary.
1. Who we are
Charika Private Limited (CIN U96906MP2026PTC086014), registered office C-22 Bittan Market, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.
2. What we collect
On dammruvani.com (the store):
- For every purchase: your name, email address and WhatsApp number.
- For a written report (a Gochar plan, the Family Analysis or Prashna Nirnay), also: your gender, your date, time and place of birth, the latitude and longitude of your birth place from the map pin, and, if you choose to add one, a question of up to 200 characters. For a Family Analysis, the same birth details for each member you include.
- For a ₹51 Gochar guide: only your name, email address and WhatsApp number. No birth details.
- Usage data: which pages you visit and which steps of the checkout you reach, measured by Google Analytics (see section 5). It never includes your name, email, phone number or birth details.
On DammruVani Play (play.dammruvani.com), where you log in, save your kundli and apply the idea of a DammruVani video to it:
- Your account: your WhatsApp number, your language choice (Hindi or English), when you joined, and which video or link first brought you to Play.
- Login: to log you in we send a 6-digit code to your WhatsApp number. We store the code only in scrambled (hashed) form; it works once and expires after 5 minutes. For each login attempt we record the IP address, and for each logged-in session the IP address and the browser and device type, to keep accounts safe and stop abuse.
- Your kundli: the name you enter, your date of birth, your time of birth (or that you do not know it), and your birth place with its latitude, longitude and time zone. From these our own software, on our own server, computes your birth chart and keeps it with your kundli.
- Video results: each time you apply a video to your kundli, the result shown to you and the chart facts it was based on.
- ₹101 reports: your order (amount, the Razorpay order and payment references, status and time) and the report made for you.
- Usage data: which Play screens and steps you reach, for example opening a video, applying it, tapping the ₹101 button or opening a report. Our own server records this against your account, or against an anonymous browser id before you log in. Play does not use Google Analytics.
On both:
- Payment: Razorpay tells us whether your payment succeeded, the amount, the payment method type and its reference. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank credentials.
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp or by email, and the reports we send you.
- Server logs: like any website, our server records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use it to keep the site secure and to stop abuse.

3. How we use it
- To prepare your report and deliver it, or to deliver your guide.
- On DammruVani Play: to log you in and keep you logged in, to compute your chart, to show your video results and ₹101 reports, and to keep them in मेरी कुंडली (My Kundli) so you can open them again.
- To contact you about your order on WhatsApp or by email.
- To answer your questions and handle refunds and complaints.
- To keep payment, invoice and accounting records that the law requires.
- To understand which links and campaigns bring people to us, and to make the site clearer.
- To keep the site and our systems secure.
We do not sell your personal data. If we ever send you updates or offers, you can stop them at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or by writing to us.
4. Who we share it with
Only with the service providers we need to run the service, and only what each one needs:
- Razorpay, our payment provider, which takes your payment on its own page and sends your receipt by SMS and email. On DammruVani Play we fill in your name and WhatsApp number in Razorpay's checkout so you do not have to type them.
- WhatsApp (Meta), through which we deliver reports, send DammruVani Play login codes and talk to you. WhatsApp handles those messages under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Our email provider, through which we send emails about your order.
- Our hosting provider. Your data is stored on our own server in India.
- OpenStreetMap. The birth place map at checkout loads its map images from OpenStreetMap's servers, and the map code from unpkg.com, so your browser connects to them. When you search for a place, our server sends only the place name you typed to OpenStreetMap's search service, never your name or other details.
- Google, which runs Google Analytics for us on dammruvani.com (see section 5). DammruVani Play's pages load their font from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers; no personal details are sent with it.
On DammruVani Play, your birth details go to none of these providers: your chart is computed on our own server, and the birth place search runs on our own server from a list of places we keep there (GeoNames data), so what you type is not sent to an outside service.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to our professional advisers under confidentiality.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see where people stop on the way to a purchase, so that we can make the site clearer. It sets first-party cookies in your browser. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, so this data is not used to advertise to you. We never send Google your name, email, phone number or birth details; only the pages you visit, the product and price you look at, and which buttons and checkout steps you use. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, and it may be handled on Google's servers outside India.
The checkout also keeps one short-lived order note in your browser, holding only the product and its price, so that a completed purchase can be counted. After payment it leaves a small marker so the same purchase is not counted twice.
When you arrive from a link, an ad, another website or the Instagram or Facebook app, the site also notes where you came from, so that we know which links and campaigns lead to orders. It keeps two small records in your browser: one for the first such visit, replaced after 90 days, and one for the latest. Each holds only the campaign tags in the link, the name of the referring website, whether you came from the Instagram or Facebook app, the page you landed on and the time. A flag that lasts only for your current visit makes sure this is noted once per visit. If you place an order, these records, without the time, are sent and stored with it. They never contain your name, email, phone number or birth details. We use no advertising cookies.
DammruVani Play uses only its own cookies, with no Google Analytics and no advertising cookies: a login cookie that keeps you logged in for up to 90 days; an anonymous browser id, kept for about 13 months, that lets us count which steps visitors reach before and after they log in; a security cookie that protects Play's forms from requests sent by other websites; and, when you arrive from a video or a tagged link, a cookie kept for 90 days that holds only which video and link brought you and when, saved with your account when you sign up. Play also keeps a few notes in your browser's storage: your language choice, which reports you have already opened (so the opening animation plays once) and the days you tick in a report. Those notes stay on your device. Play needs the login and security cookies to work.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The store works the same either way; on Play, blocking cookies means you cannot stay logged in.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your order and your birth details while we prepare and deliver your report, and afterwards so that we can answer questions about it. Payment and invoice records are kept for as long as Indian tax and company law requires.
On DammruVani Play, your account, kundli, video results and reports are kept while your account exists, so that you can open them again. A login session ends after 90 days. Records of login attempts are kept for as long as we need them to keep accounts safe. The payment notifications Razorpay sends us are stored with only the fields we need (references, amount, currency, status, payment method type and any error code, never your contact or card, UPI or bank details) and deleted after 90 days; the order record itself is kept as tax law requires.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time; we will delete everything except what the law requires us to keep. For a DammruVani Play account that means your account, kundli, results and reports; the order and payment records stay as the law requires.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct or complete it, to erase it, to withdraw your consent, to nominate someone to act for you, and to raise a grievance. Write to us at office@charikalabs.com or on WhatsApp at +91 96173 65533. We acknowledge within 48 hours and aim to resolve within 30 days.
On DammruVani Play you can see your kundli and reports at any time in मेरी कुंडली. To correct your birth details or delete your account, write to us from the WhatsApp number you log in with, so we can confirm the account is yours.
8. Other people's details
If you give us someone else's details, such as a family member's birth details for a Family Analysis or for a kundli on DammruVani Play, please make sure they are happy for you to share them. A child's details may be given only by a parent or guardian.
9. Age
Our products, including DammruVani Play, are for people aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children, except a child's birth details given by a parent or guardian for a Family Analysis.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The new version will be posted here with a new date.
